Primark Smoky Eye Palette Review and Swatches

I finally got my hands on one of the Primark palettes and it just so happens that it's perfect for my favourite smoky eye look! Read on for swatches and my thoughts...

The packaging

The packaging, as you would expect for £4, is a little flimsy. It closes with magnets and is predominantly cardboard. However, the graphics on the palette look really nice and it's very slimline so perfect for travelling!

The shades

There's a fantastic range of shades in the palette - 10 shades for £4 working out at 40p per shadow. There's a mix of matte and shimmer - I'd prefer more matte shades but that's just my personal preference. There's some lovely neutral shades to make a smoky eye and also some jewel tones to really add some drama!

I'm particularly excited to use Smoulder, Fire Pit and Blood Magic!

The pigmentation

Again, for £4, I'm pretty impressed. Winter Mist is a disappointment but as you move down the palette the pigmentation gets stronger.

The black at the end looks particularly good - it's always good to have a decent black in a smoky palette.

I have heard it's a dupe of the Urban Decay Smoked Palette and I can see the similarities. The quality of the shadows doesn't match UD but this palette is about a tenth of the price and for that price, you are getting WAY more than a tenth of the quality of UD if that makes sense.

All in all, it's worth picking up this palette and I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for the other palettes in the range!
