Cool Toned Smokey Eye with Makeup Revolution

You might remember a while ago, I ordered £30 of products from TAM Beauty and received a goody bag for free. One of my freebie products was an eyeshadow palette originally released for Halloween called The Dead Are Alive. At the time, I wasn't so sure how much use I would get out of it...but my goodness me, do I love it now!

The palette itself is a little bit limited in stock but I have seen it on eBay and there seems to be a couple left on the website.

I used: Top row shadows 1, 3 and 5
Bottom row shadows 1 and 4
I swept the first shadow all over my lid which is actually much more grey than it looks in the pan. I then buffed the first shadow on the bottom row into my crease, deepening with the purple matte shade on the bottom row.

I highlighted the lid and blended it all together with shadows from the top row - number 3 in the outer corner and number 5 on the lid.

I highlighted my inner corner using the Sleek Solstice highlighting palette.

Here is the finished look:

I really love how the cooler tones go with my warm brown eyes, the purple shades seem to suit my eyes really well and make a change from a warm smokey eye.

The shadows themselves are SO pigmented - just as I expect from Makeup Revolution.

It just goes to show that you should never discount a product just because it doesn't immediately call to you - I played around with this and found a look that worked really well.

What products have surprised you?
