The Epoch Glacial Mud Mask and the Boots Charcoal and Willow Bark Sheet mask

I've been really getting into regular face masks at the moment in an attempt to treat my skin a little better and there's two that I've been loving!

Epoch Glacial Mud Mask - Nu Skin

First up is the Epoch Glacial Mud Mask from Nu Skin. Now, I bet you ALL know someone who's selling Nu Skin on social media. The chances are you've seen them review this mask including photos of loads of people swearing how good it is. I'm not a distributor for Nu Skin and I haven't been gifted this product or asked to review it. I bought this mask with my own pennies - and I'm telling you, it's good!

It's really good value for money as a little goes a long way - coming in around £1 per use. Added to that, the mask dries really quickly so this is a mud mask you can do in a rush if you need to. Seriously quickly. In fact, I couldn't get a photo without parts of it having already dried. Once it is dry, you can forget about moving your face - this stuff dries solid! It smells alright too - I've used some really offensive smelling clay masks that will not dry at all - so this stuff was a dream!

I apply mine with a brush as the consistency is thinner than you're perhaps used to with a clay mask. A little really does go a long way. After around ten minutes, the mask is fully dry. You can see darker patches on the skin were apparently impurities are being extracted - I was sceptical about this and thought the mask just hadn't dried. However, I can confirm that the dark patches are dry. They mainly appear on my T-Zone where I am oilier.

Benefits of the mask for me are huge - my skin feels clear and clean after I've washed it off (which, by the way, is SO easy to do!). Breakouts are nipped in the bud and any spots are much drier than prior the mask. After moisturiser, my skin feels plumper and softer than normal and regular use seems to be keeping my hormonal breakouts at bay. You can also use this mask on other areas of your body - I've popped it on spots that have popped up elsewhere and seen a fab effect on them!

Be warned, on first applying the mask, your face might feel a little tingly or warm. Mine does and I've had no reaction other than that. You might also notice some redness after washing it off - I get a little patch on my jaw line. Again, this disappears after a couple of minutes with no other reaction.

I buy my mask from Nu You by Andrea who is my beautiful friend.

Boots Charcoal and Willow Bark Sheet Mask

Words cannot describe how much I love this sheet mask. When I want a refreshing mask over a deep cleansing one, I reach for this. Slightly pricier than the Nu Skin mask at £2.50 for one mask, it's still worth every penny.

Now, when I mentioned before that your skin might feel a little tingly with the clay mask - it was on a whole other level with this sheet mask. From about 1 minute in, my face was tingling a LOT. It wasn't unpleasant but I did lift the mask off and check my skin the first time I used it. Then I noticed the warning on the pack about tingling and I tried to relax.

When I took the sheet mask off, my skin glowed. You would have sworn I'd doused myself in liquid illuminator. And the effect continued for a couple of days. My foundation looked better as well. Magic!

What masks do you swear by?
