Tori's Top Tips - Cleaning Candle Jars

I don't know about you, but I always get given candles as gifts and many of them come in jars. I love candles and the jars are often very pretty. However, once the candle has burned down and melted at the bottom of the jar, what do you do? I also get given lots of tealights and need holders for them.

This first "Tori's Top Tip" is how to remove the wax so that the jar can be reused for tealights and lone candles.

Boil your kettle and fill your jar/holder with the boiling water. Almost instantly, the wax at the bottom begins to melt and form a pool on the top.

If you have time, leave the water to cool and the wax will float to the top of the holder then as the water cools, the wax will solidify at the top of the holder.

If you don't have time, after around 5 minutes, you can use a spoon to carefully nudge the wax off the bottom of the holder. It will then float to the top and you will be able to pour cool water over the holder to cool it down before fishing the wax out.

And that's it! Ready for a new candle!

This tip also works on wax burners if you want to swap the wax tart out for a different scent.

What are your candle top tips?

Have a beautiful day, inside and out
