A Christmas FOTD with Makeup Geek

I recently bought my first Makeup Geek eyeshadows and wanted to create a Christmas eye makeup look with them that I might wear to a Christmas party or even on Christmas Day itself! It was also my first attempt at a cut crease look which is much, much harder than it looks...

Glowing Skin

First of all, I prepped my skin with the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer*which is so shimmery and when layered underneath foundation gives a lit from within look. This is my absolute favourite glow inducing primer!

I followed this with Nars Sheer Glow*foundation which is one of my high end favourites for a full coverage but glowing effect. I find it gives great coverage when I use a foundation brush to smooth it on before blending it in with a foundation sponge (my favourite is the Real Techniques!)

I added even more glow with my ALL TIME FAVOURITE HIGHLIGHTER EVER! I adore this highlighter SO much and know it's a real hit amongst other beauty lovers - The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer*. It's the perfect champagne highlight which can be seen from space...

Cut Crease Eyeshadow Look

For my eye look I used four shadows, three from Makeup Geek and one from MAC.

l-r Top Row: Makeup Geek Bitten, MAC All That Glitters
Bottom Row: Makeup Geek Beaches and Cream, Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear
First, I blended Beaches and Cream into my crease and then deepened it up with Cocoa Bear. To do this, I used my new favourite eye brush which surprisingly is from Primark. It's their Eye Contour Brush (I think) and is slightly angled. I dip the pointed part in the shadow and run this through my crease. The rest of the brush then blends it as I go! I love it and it's so soft...!

After that, I used a small smudger brush to buff some Bitten into the crease, re-blending it all with the previous brush.

I cleaned up and cut the crease with Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer on a small flat brush. I think I needed a higher coverage concealer for this although it did the trick.

After that, I use Mac All That Glitters* across the eyelid before running the blending brush underneath my eyes and finishing with a winged liner - my favourite is Lord and Berry which I tested in my "What is the best liquid liner?" post.

The crease was way more cut before I used the All That Glitters - I've learned that you need to keep the lid shade very pale to intensify this look more.

I finished the whole look off with a nude lip, Rimmel Kate in shade 3 which is always in my nude lip rotation.

All in all, I love this look although I'm not too sure that a cut crease was fully achieved, haha! For me, it's going to be the perfect Christmas Day look!
