Pink/Gold glitter ombre nail

My favourite nail colour combo is still the Barry M Nail Gelly in Pink Lemonade combined with Barry M Nail Paint in Gold. I used it in my Spring Nail Art look  and I've used it again here now! Except this time...I've added glitter. Everything's better with glitter, right??

Packing for a long weekend with cabin baggage only

I recently spent a long weekend in Spain, flying with EasyJet and literally only having cabin baggage. We were there for four days in total and were doing a mixture of chilling by the pool, a bit of sightseeing and a day at a reservoir swimming. I needed a lot of different things in other words! And that's before I decided on the toiletries I was taking in that little plastic bag!!

Here are my top tips for packing a cabin bag holiday.

The suitcase

First of all - make sure you maximise the bag you take. A cabin bag sized case is actually bigger than you think. My top tip is to buy a specifically cabin bag sized case and then you're not panicking about it being too big and not losing out either. I went for a Tripp cabin luggage suitcase that fit most airlines size requirements. Mine is extremely old now but you can find all sorts out there.  These are my current favourites!

Tori Gets Organised - Shoes and Bags

A short while ago, I made a promise to myself and to you lovely readers (and to Mr T...) that I would FINALLY get organised. You can see my post Tori Gets Organised: The Promise here.

I wrote the post as much to MAKE myself do it as anything else and guess what, I actually started!!

My shoes and bags used to be in a pile underneath our lift up bed. I could never find the bag I wanted or a matching pair of shoes... but now - drum roll please...!

(Please excuse the photography - how do you make organisation look pretty?! Tips in the comments please!)

Walking Morecambe Bay with Cedric

As regular readers to my blog will know, I'm quite the fan of the great outdoors (I refer you to my staycation posts) so when the opportunity came up to walk Morecambe Bay, I couldn't turn it down.

I walked the bay for Reverse Rett - a charity close to Mr T's family's hearts. You can find their webpage by clicking on the Reverse Rett link which includes details on their upcoming events, how to donate and information about the charity itself. Briefly and simply, Rett Syndrome is a neurological condition that affects little girls shortly after their first birthday. For these girls and women, their bodies cannot obey the instructions from their brain, so they can understand more than they are able to show.

Combining walking outdoors with a challenge and raising money for charity...let's read on!

The walk is from Arnside across the bay to Kent's Bank train station. Fortunately for us, one of Mr T's relatives lives a 5 minute walk from the station so we parked there and caught the train into Arnside. This was an experience in itself. The train travels across the bay on a viaduct and offers gorgeous views across the bay for the whole journey. The train was PACKED but only took around ten minutes.

Lake Garda Holiday Diary Part 1

Last year, I wrote extensively about our trip to Italy which included Venice, Rome, Florence and Sorrento - we spent two weeks travelling by car and train and loved the country. This year, my dad kindly offered to take us to Lake Garda for ten days...somewhere we'd wanted to visit last year and couldn't quite fit it in. Therefore, we gladly accepted!!

Tori Gets Organised: The Promise

I've recently developed a little bit of an obsession with organisation videos on YouTube...not just makeup organisation, although this is where it started, but household organisation as well. I'm VERY well organised at work - I have to be to get through the day with no major catastrophes and Mr T always complains that I don't continue this at home. He's extremely organised at work AND at home whereas I'm messy and leave a trail of clutter throughout the house.

Wedding Anniversary Date Day in Manchester

As I *might* have mentioned once or twice, it was recently my wedding anniversary with Mr T. To celebrate, we bought him a new pair of running shoes (see my gait analysis post...!) and then we went for dinner and cocktails in Manchester. I took LOTS of photographs of delicious cocktails and thought I'd share them with you.

We started at The Botanist on Deansgate as I am a massive fan of the cocktails from The Botanist. I love the garden theme and the cocktails just taste that little bit more sophisticated than my usual bubblegum, sugary concoctions.

Gait Analysis at The Sweatshop in Manchester

Mr T's running shoes recently fell apart after an over-vigorous game of foot-golf. This meant that one of our very exciting wedding anniversary activities was to buy him a new pair. He wanted to head to The Sweat Shop in Manchester as he'd seen trainers online that he liked.

While we were there, a really helpful assistant offered a gait analysis to ensure that the trainers he bought were the best for him. Due to some niggly knee injuries in the past, he decided to go for it so to pass the time, I photographed the whole experience and thought I'd blog about it for your reading pleasure!

My Wedding Day

I've been married since before I started blogging but as it was recently my anniversary, I went back through my wedding album to remember the day.

I thought I'd share some of the photos with you. Firstly because I blooming LOVED my wedding day. I'm obviously biased, but my wedding was the best wedding ever! Secondly, I remember trawling blogs for wedding ideas in the planning process. I've not included any photos of people other than me purely because I'm not sure whether they want their face out there in the public domain! There's also limited photos of me but plenty of the details!!

Mr T was very involved in planning the wedding...sometimes I wished he'd just let me get on with it so I could have it all my own way but it's his day too after all. Anyway, he really wanted a red theme and I really wanted a pink theme. We were at an absolute stalemate with the colour scheme.

A friend suggested that we make a wedding mood board from all the wedding magazines I'd collected and we decided to sort the pictures from pale pink all the way through to red in an ombre effect (though at this point I had no idea what ombre was...!)

Suddenly it all fell into place. We could have red AND pink. We would have an ombre wedding with all the shades. We were both delighted and it was this point that really set the aesthetic for the day. Once that had been decided, the rest seemed to fall into place.

So here it is, our dream wedding!

The Bride

I found my dress quite quickly (I thought) and definitely was the whole cliché of when you know, you know. As soon as I put it on, I felt bridey and then afterwards, couldn't get it out of my head.

The dress itself was by Lilian West (6300 style) and was an A-line, lace and beaded dress with an illusion neckline. It had a chapel length train which could be pinned up for dancing. I got it in Ivory/Silver and it fitted me absolutely perfectly with no adjustments needed at all!
