A copper eye look - Make-Up Revolution Iconic Pro Palette

I recently bought the Iconic Pro from Makeup Revolution in a Superdrug haul and have had fun playing with it since. I think I've used it almost every day - the shade range means you can create practically any look you want.

Stuffed Aubergine Rolls - Slimming World Recipe Files

I've followed Slimming World for nearly two years now, successfully shedding two stone in the run up to my wedding. I've successfully managed to keep off 1 stone but have messed around for a year or so, losing and putting weight on but ultimately, staying stationary.

I bought a 12 week countdown after my Italy trip in order to prepare for my October holiday. I'd love to lose this pesky stone in those 12 well as tone up a little with some exercise.

Because of that, I've decided to start posting some of the recipes I'm trying out. I hope you enjoy them

Shopping the Stash - Revlon Colourburst Balm Stain in Honey

After a summer of spend, spend, spend so far, I'm imposing a spend ban on myself until my birthday in October :-O

It's going to start at the beginning of September and means no new make-up until the end of October - eeeeeeeeek!

As part of that, I'm going to shop my stash. Shopping the stash is rummaging around your make-up drawers to find hidden gems and forgotten beauties.

I'm starting with a lip product that I trialled for my wedding. I ended up using MAC Patisserie on my wedding day, which is a VERY similar colour but wore off a little more evenly. Therefore, Honey got put into a drawer and forgotten about until today.

I'm sure that almost every beauty blogger owns a version of these balms, one way or another. They've been massive on the internet and Honey is 1 out of 3 I own (Lovesick and Crush being the other shades).

The balms currently cost £7.99 from Boots.

  • You don't need to sharpen these, they are retractable.
  • The colour lasts for a LONG time but when reapplied, add a lovely gloss to lips as well.
  • They feel lightweight on the lips.
  • The colour range is expanding all the time, along with finished (I'm looking at you matte version - LOVE!)
  • I don't love the scent of these. It's a peppermint scent and is fresh, but not my favourite thing ever.
What would you find if you shopped your stash? Has anyone tried the matte versions? I'm dying to know what they're like!

Staycation in Cheshire UK - Dunham Massey

I recently spent a gorgeous day at Dunham Massey house and gardens with my mum. The house is currently open and set-up as Stamford Military Hospital, reflecting the houses history during World War One. We had such a great day, the weather was perfect for walking around the gardens and the hospital was fascinating. Full of authentic and replica artefacts that you could pick up and interact with as well as actors "working" in the hospital, giving a real sense of what it must have been like. I really indulged my history geek side!

High end wish list August 2015

My last wish list was back in June (June wish list ) but I didn't actually pick anything up from it.
I did manage to try a couple of things and decided they weren't for me or that I'd rather wait until my birthday for them. That meant it was time to compile a new wish list!

Italy trip: Florence - where to go and what to eat

The second in my travel blogs about Italy see us heading to Florence or Firenze. Florence was the capital city of Italy and is famous for its history and being the birthplace of Renaissance.

What's in my make-up bag? Weekend away edition

I've posted a What's in my make-up bag? Handbag edition right at the start of writing my blog and realised I hadn't done any others. I'm off to Wales for a long weekend soon and this is the make up I'll be taking with me.

I'm in love. The new V&A collection from Oasis is perfection in clothes form and the thing I covet more than anything is the pencil skirt. I'm recruiting all my clan to drop massive hints to hubs for my birthday! And just to prove how much wear I'd get, here's 6 different outfits I'd wear with it. Take note Mr T...

#LipstickTour - a #Bbloggers challenge

At the beginning of July, during a BBloggers chat on Twitter, I got into conversation with Tessa over at That Girl With the Weird Hair and Bethany at Polished Couture about wearing bright lipstick and how much of a wimp I was.

Tessa challenged me to dig out a bright lipstick, wear it on holiday and blog about it using the hashtag #lipsticktour

Here is that LONG overdue blog post...challenge completed!

Italy trip: Venice - where to go and what to eat

I've recently come home from a fortnight in Italy with the hubs. I've never been before and I absolutely loved it.

I stayed in Venice, Florence, Rome and Sorrento and also visited Bologna and Siena. So I thought I'd write my tips and loves from each city in a little travel series on my blog, starting with Venice.

How to do 1920s style make up

I'm such a history geek...I love it so I decided to try to combine my two great loves - history and make up. I thought I'd start with the 1920s because I think it's the first era to really have an identified 'look'.
